Markus Schultz is popular for his original style of dark, yet melodic DJ electronic music sets. Markus is also famous for his remixes of well-known songs. Markus Schultz has produced music for some of electronic musics top labels like Armada, Ajunabeats, Electronic Elements, Lost Language and many more.

Markus Schulz has a goal of seeing the world. Schulz is currently in the position of number 8 on the DJ Mag Top 100 DJ’s poll and 5th on the TranceAddict.com’s Top 250 DJ’s poll. At his current rate of travelling he just might see the entire world, while playing and Djaying his own brand of “dark, moody melodic trance.

From Australia to Russia, and China to Trinidad he has been on fire. Markus Schulz also plays in his hometown of Miami, as well as at his residency at Amnesia in Ibiza. Let’s just say that he is all over the place, and hard to track down. :)

Markus Schulz has a weekly radio show called Global DJ Broadcast which can be heard on over 30 stations worldwide. Wanna feel like you are at Ibiza, just listen to the popular “Ibiza Summer SessionS” show on Global DJ Broadcast that started in 2006. The “Ibiza Summer Sessions” show features guest DJs and best music from the Balearic Islands. Markus Schulz mission was to bring Ibiza to people who otherwise couldn’t make it there. This formula allowed Schulz to reach out and touch the lives of thousands and make himself a household name among electronic music fans.

Markus Schulz second album Progression was a winner and showed his experience with the world and music. Again it provided his fans with a taste of his unique dark, melodic trance alongside chilled tracks, guitars and vocals. Markus Schulz Progression was an album more influenced by the sunny days of Miami and Trinidad. It was less dark in feeling and had more optimism and happiness than his first album.

Producing an album is tough, when you are on the go all the time, but according to Markus Schulz he doesn’t mind keeping busy. Schulz finds inspiration in the travel between his two home bases Miami and Berlin and
everywhere in between. Markus Schulz finds that he cannot do one without the other, when playing music for the crowd he feels hyped up and gives him energy and ideas for getting into the studio, where he gets excited about the prospect of playing the music he just produced for the crowd. It cycle which feeds off each other.

Markus Schulz released his fourth compilation for Armada music called “Amsterdam 08″. Amsterdam is Markus Schultz spiritual home due to the passion of his fans there. He mentions that the people of Holland were one of the first to accept him and his sound, so it was only natural to choose Amsterdam to do the 2008 mix there.

As well in 2008 his “Progression” album release world tour was a success. Markus Schulz kept busy introducing his fans to his new tracks in Australia, Asia and South America.
